Nut Replacement (Tusq) 
$79 (Includes Nut)

Upgrade the sound and playability of your guitar with our Tusq nut replacement service. I will remove your old plastic or bone nut and replace it with a custom-cut Tusq nut, which is known for its superior tonal clarity and increased sustain, tone and tuning stability. Corrects string height. Graphtec "Tusq" nuts are made of synthetic ivory which self lubricates. Excellent upgrade for guitars having trouble staying in tune. #1 upgrade for Squier, Epiphone, PRS SE, etc.


Fret Dressing (Level, Crown and Polish) Includes Setup. $130

I will level and crown your frets, removing any imperfections or buzzing and ensuring that your guitar plays smoothly and with optimal intonation. This service also includes a full setup to ensure that your guitar is perfectly optimized for your playing style.

Electronics

Replace, upgrade or fix existing electronics. Output jacks, pickups, potentiometers, switches. 

Our pickup installation service is the perfect way to upgrade the sound of your guitar. With our pickup installation service, you can expect to experience improved tone, greater sustain, and a more dynamic range of sound.

Sharp Fret Ends

Files away the sharp edges of the frets. Makes for a more comfortable feel. Includes beveling if needed. $69


Paint Touch Ups & Body Work/ Acoustic Crack Repair: Price to be determined

Fills in dings and dents, touches up paint work. Seals cracks and prevents future cracking and separation. Safeguards the life and value of the instrument.

13 Point Setup

Guitar setups are mainly focused on playability and general maintenance. Unless specified by the customer, the goal is low action with little or no buzzing. 

At NoVA Guitar Setups, I perform setups by taking measurements, restoring the guitar to the proper measurements and then making final adjustments based on feel.

1. Initial inspection of the guitar.

2. Truss rod adjustment to provide the proper amount of relief in the neck. (.010 mm measured at the 8th and 9th fret)(.012 for basses)


3. Bridge height adjustment to adjust the string height at the 12th (acoustics) and 17th (electrics and basses.) 

4. Rotate volume & tone pots. Deoxit if scratchy, tighten if loose, note any recommendations for the owner.

5. Clean & polish the frets.

6. Clean the fretboard & oil (Rosewood, Pau Ferro and Ebony.)

7. Change strings and tune. Lubricate nut.

8. Tighten loose tuning machines and torque if necessary.

9. Tighten any loose screws on the body.

10. Check and adjust the pickup height.

11. Set and adjust the intonation. 

12. Clean the guitar.

13. Play the guitar and check for buzzing, playability, overall feel.
